Revamp MyUmm for Student
Overview
The MyUmm Student app's previous developer-centric user interface needs user involvement to improve user satisfaction. Feedback from approximately 50,000 users and 867 reviews on the Google Play Store indicate design flaws and usability issues.
So, Enhancements are necessary to meet user expectations and improve their experience.

Solutions
My work involves conducting research to address issues related to attendance success indicators, simplifying payment components for new users, increasing the attractiveness of course information layouts, and ensuring that course features remain relevant in order to increase user satisfaction.

After understanding the user's needs and expectations, I designed the application based on the MyUmm troubleshooting framework. I then created a low-fidelity prototype. After designing and prototyping, I conducted usability testing using the System Usability Scale with a total of 10 participants. Based on the feedback received, I made improvements to the design, resulting in a 79% satisfaction rate. Here is the high-fidelity prototype.
I conducted supervised user research and received feedback from users, which we incorporated into our user personas. For instance, our persona Susilo had expressed frustration with the item selection process during checkout, as it was quite confusing.

Then i brought my idea to an interactive digital low-fidelity prototype and brought it to five potential users to collect feedback.

Final Design
I made a design comparison between the old design and the new design. A new design I created based on feedback I received from a usability testing session. I take note of user comments and suggestions, and work hard to implement them in a way that will provide the best possible user experience in new designs. My goal is to create products that are easy to understand, efficient to use, and fun to interact with. To achieve this, I pay close attention to user feedback and make changes accordingly.
👇 Homepage

You are now on the home page, where student information is displayed. I've made various UI and UX improvements, including the addition of the "Today's Schedule" feature, which provides information about ongoing classes.
👇 Payment

The new interface improves the selection process by making it easier to identify paid and unpaid items. Checkboxes are now more prominent, reducing confusion and enhancing the user experience. Users can confidently and conveniently complete transactions with their preferred secure payment method.
👇 Attendance

The new attendance design allows users to easily mark attendance for ongoing classes based on the current day and date. The system will detect the user's location during attendance, ensuring accurate recording.
👇 Course Grades

Courses assist students in understanding the curriculum structure, selecting the courses they want to take, and organizing their class schedules.
Usability Testing
After making a design and prototyping, we do usability testing using system usability scale with a total of 10 users, the test results are as follows:

Outcome
Based on prototype testing of the solution design, a higher score was obtained compared to the initial design of the MyUmm Student application. The solution design improved by 79 points, resulting in a grade scale of "B", adjective rating of "Good", user acceptance level of "Acceptable", and a net promoter score indicating user satisfaction as "Promoter". This indicates that users have positively received the system and are satisfied with its usability.
Throughout my time working on this project, I've learned the importance of gathering as much user feedback as possible in the early phases of a project. In this project, we started collecting user feedback a few weeks after we started the project, which provides strong direct evidence of design decision making.
